The issue Ihad with my system in the beginning was the way the scanner software grouped all the components in the case. Now that I understand how it does it I really like it. The scanner software is sooooo important. The order of the steps etc. like to see screen shots some time of each step.

I use multiple scanners and group data into exo,

Full freedom to replace any scan data at any time!

You really can't mess up a case that bad to have to trash it and start over.

I am in heaven!

I have to use the scanner software to scan as separate project. Invert selection and then create a case in DentalDB, rename impression scans to correct file name and import into the correct file. Not bad really

How does it do with adjacent tooth contact areas? Having to add scans or is it picking everything up ok?

This sounds really good and somthing that I wanted to play with, I have never seen an invert option in my software, are you using third party stuff to do this or is it just built into your scanner software. does Exo have an invert option?

Hi Scott, is Exo sorting out the global registration issues itself, I was trying to do this using different scaner data through an other program but it would always go t*ts up when all the data was trying to globally align. Do you have to choose reference points or does it auto find them? Thanks Pete

I have Two options to do that stuff.

One is to follow the chain layed out by ExoCAD.

The other is to use Nobil/Open Technologies scanning software to register.

One is better for aligning the implant scan bodies.

If you have scan data from Two different scanners, may have to play a bit.

First, is data still in point-cloud, or triangulated mesh?

I pulled in 3M scans and Nobil scans into same project.

Mixed it all up.

I did "Free-style" scanning, the "Scott" way.

Making up sh1t as I go along.

ExoCAD accepted my garbage and we plowed right through the case.

I had to flip a Mesh or Two, and do some quick registration. It was fast.

Love it!

K2, the invert option i use is part of my scanners software. You can also pull in multiple scans and use the mesh registration features in exocad to get everybody together. Exocad can pretty much do whatever you need so far.

I like it.

It can do some things that not many or maybe no scanner can do.

It's all in the wrist.

I do mostly "Free-Style" scanning. Kowa-Bunga!

I exit normal workflow and do as I please.

I have learned what will scan and what won't.

We can scan any piece or pieces at a time and work it all together again.

Whatever it takes.

I scan, then tell the computer what it was.

I do not follow prompts from normal workflow.

I scan any piece, or pieces I feel like scanning, when I want to scan them.

I make up the entire scanning sequence and e'rething.

I rarely have to do add scans with mine unless the prep is really tall or major undercuts of adjacent contact teeth. Sounds like the Italian scanner is performing well.
