Paul, they offer this weird net thing that I have not seen yet. I'm supposed to get my hands on one soon. Allows scanning of the entire object. I'll let u know when I get it.

The cost goes down if we can get a few guys to buy.

I have just seen the scan data.....WOW! :)

Very dense data. Works for me.

Almost 6 million data points on this model.

I think I am going to send my $$ away to Italy today for this scanner.
According to all my info and sources...this is the ONE!

It will be here before Lab Day East 2012 (March 31st.)
Then, maybe we go up to NY? (Italian scanner people, Luigi from CIMSystems, other ?)

I think Bars and complex Implant stuff will be sent to me with a wide range of articulators. This scanner will be able to work with anything now and into the future. Chamber size is non-factor.

Also, a new 5-axis Haas OM2a will probably be seen around my lab soon. I think I have what it takes to assemble this package now. Took me years to get here. We had fun playing with KaVo making up Titanium milling strategys without breaking anything, now time to apply that to something.

I am going to Haas Dealer in N.C. this week to check it out for the 3rd time! LOL

12,000mm/minute cutting speeds, and much faster rapids! That is 4-8x faster than my KaVo and Lava mills!

3sec tool changes for the Haas. Lava mill takes almost a minute? At least 30sec.

It may not sound like much at first, but it all adds up!

I believe Glidewell has a bunch of these and the Haas Mini-mills.

I have a tough time finding the people who helped Jim put those together.

I had a phone number, but lost it.

Sais the scanner has a rotating table, so this can only capture data from one angle?

Surely a scanner with a pivoting platform like the solutionix would be better?

These are some of the factors that matter.

Forget about how many axis.

There is a reason the 3M scanner is almost 3' tall, and this one also has similar geometry and distance x2.

Dense data for die scan. I picked a random triangle and see 27uM spacing.
Some larger ones are over 30um. Still, it's very good looking so far?

I will submit some to Patmo if he is still playing around with files?

Do it Scott!

Done.

I bought it.

Also Implant abutment software, Implant bridges, Bars, and I am buying the locator kit (physical scanning jigs for implant ocation). Actually Four or more of each type of implant.

Then a Haas 5-axis....then try to figure it all out, Wheeeeee!

I'm a year behind schedule, but I'm glad I waited. Things were just not right for me.

This may make an apperance at Lab Day East.

less than One Month. I have to get my crap together and also need to empty out a small place in my head for more new information. I don't think I can take much more. Need to pass that duty off to my son soon. He has plenty of room. LOL

I think the unit is finished and ready to ship, but I will wait for on-site training from Italian people.

They may come over for Lab Day East?

End of the month.

I am trying to fly out Mr. Luigi for CAM (CIMSystem of Italy)) and Mrs. Cristina Ossi (NobilMetal of Italy) for the scanner and ExoCad to NY for Lab Day East early.

We may be in local labs doing demo of the scanner and/or SUM3D.

I know for sure that I have to go up then, because I am installing SUM3D at Three labs the week before and after the Dental Show.

If anyone in the NY/PA/NJ area want to play around with some toys, give me a holla!

HOLLA!HOLLA!HOLLA!HOLLA!

LOL Funny!

If anyone is intersted ina nice, new Haas OM-2a 5-axis for under $100k to do implant bars and abutments....just Holla!

I am working with Renishaw and a few other companys to put together a nice package for Dental use.

FAST MILL! (For the $$)

You can get Five, 5-axis Haas for the cost of DMG or Rhoders.

US support and training all over the states.

Your putting together a system for bars and abutments?

Haas - Good machines for this application
I assume your using exocad and SUM3D
and The NobilMetal scanner

Where does Renishaw fit in? QC on a CMM or scanning?
Nothing against Renishaw.. Sir David is a great guy

Reinshaw has a $5k kit you can buy only with a Haas mill. (Comes in a box, not installed and calibrated.)

A Touch probe tool to go onto spindle and another probe/pad for tool offset.

(Same as Biomet 3I scanner or Nobel probe)

I need the tool-offset sensor in the milling chamber so I don't have to manually set up tool lenght. Mill does not come with one.

Of course the probing tool I may never figure out on my own?

It would be nice to use it to setup location of material in mill to prevent a crash on hard material (whoops!) and for checking the finished part.

You have better solution around $5k?

The Haas TR-110 4th and 5th axis also comes in a box, and not installed and calibrated. "Have fun!", says Haas dealers. That's about all the help you get for such a cheap price.

I'm board and need more toys. Getting burnt out on Zirconi.

It arrived today. The White is powder-coated metal.

Cameras look fancy inside. Guts of scanner are from Open Technologies. Has Three USBs and a Video going to PC.

I am waiting on custom PC to be finished.

I have ExoCAD on Disk waiting....

Tues the dude from Italy will be here with the scanning locators.

Then, we play.

I think someone from there called us a while back about distributing that thing. Are you the one they decided to set up the demo with? Will you be selling those Scott?
