For Sale Exocad custom teeth libraries

Yes Congratulations. Using your libraries everyday. Love them.

Ok just bringing up a little oversight in set number 2 and general tips.
There's absence of equator and a fissure in lowerjaw.

Equator is not a big deal, it's pretty much only used in freeform where you can block it.

On the other hand fissures are a prerequisite for flattering the tooth. It's an algorithmic calculation that's done with the cusp tips.
They don't need to be fancy or anything. But from what a recall if you make them a bit thicker your mesh will retain more of their fine detail and depth.

So here are a couple of screenshots for you guys to fix it. It's a general tip for all libraries of course, if you ever wondered why some of your libraries don't have that feature.

Also, I would recommend making sure there's no overlapping in the cusp defined areas (cusp 1, cusp 2 etc), it'll make your life easier to move the center of the tooth. You can also "lock cusp tips" and use "entire tooth" preset, but the result is a little different. I personally erase all cusp areas so that freeform behaves like "tooth placement" and "place tooth model".
To access the model library editor go to
C:\DentalCAD\DentalCADApp\library\metadata\generic
Open upper or lower jaw dental project. Double click and open with DentalCADApp.exe
I'll have to make an in depth article when I have free time, and share my tanaka big teeth library.
No internal docs just trial and error.

Have fun ! =)

Hats off to you @Thibaut !!
You are absolutely correct.

I am kind of shocked a bit, cause the tooth model editor part, was all done by exocad integration.
Anyone can modify each library like that and make his design workflow easier.

All you mention are things i learned this year and i want to modify each of my libraries, with the new update, exactly as you said.
I know some old of mine are not functioning like that and want to fix it.

Thank you for sharing these tips with us!! Shakehands 😁

Hey everyone! Hope you are all doing great! Wish to all a great healthy year ahead!

Wanted to inform you that the update of the libraries is finished. We now have 31 upper and 8 lower libraries.
Also, all are available for 3Shape software (2018- version).

Cheers!

Oh and Filippos. Just make an pdf of each of your libraries on your site. Screenshots are nice and all but 3D viewing them is much better.
You could make an exocad html file but there's a tool out there to export the meshes in stl :/
Hello. Can you help me get this tool. Please.

Hi. Do you know if it is possible to maintain excellent polygon quality when creating a library? The program Usually kills all anatomy after optimization.
I usually did this, but your library has good detail.

Optimization is not mandatory to use. By using it, smooths and removes extra triangles. In order to have hd detail, you need extra triangles. But they must arrange properly and not overlap. If not, the stl wont be ok to mill/print and if you dont use it you need to be careful. You can inspect manually your stl with the wireframe and fix the areas that look not optimal. However, in my opinion difference is so little by using optimization. You just need to have a clean stl with nice and detailed morphology and nothing to worry about

Any plans for getting these libraries into Medit CAD and Blue Sky Plan? Neither as powerful as Exocad (and not sure what it takes to get them in), but both very useful for dentists on our end of the workflows.

If some of the "who's who" on this thread are fans of your work, I am now a fan by default.

Not a "who's who" but use these exclusively. Only have a couple of specialty sets left in my library that aren't these.

It is in my plans to update the 3 set libraries i have given to Exocad, along with all of my other libraries. While I personally work with them and listen to others people feedback, found some stuff that is worth updating and making them more natural looking, practical and ergonomic.

Plus i am not very satisfied with exocad's part, they have some bugs.

With that updated version, will reach out these platforms you pointed along with 3shape, will see how they react and their workflow. I know it may take some time though, depending when they will launch next release.

Any other thoughts are welcomed. I didn't know that blue sky plan to be honest.

Thanks everyone for the thoughts. I am always motivated from you, and I'm more than happy if anyone has seen his life in the lab a bit easier using them.

For those not using these sets, besides the anatomy and realism, these sets adapt closer to accurate than any other set I have used. I spend less than 30 seconds correcting the design adaptation to the margins. Massive time saver in that one feature alone.

Think of Blue Sky Plan as a "swiss army knife" of Implant planning, branching out to crowns, ortho, and splints, and as if that knife was totally free, and only charged you when you exported from CAD to CAM

That's what we use at my place too Cheers
