What is this stuff?

I was given a box of old misc. lab stuff. There are some packages of wire...Aderer Wire, and Jelenko Ponto Wire. Im thinking about sending it in with scrap but was wondering whats it made of?

Is it lengths of wire in tubes? Then it would be Ortho wire, check with the Ortho guys about that.

Its wires about a foot long. They seem heavy for their size, so i was thinking maybe precious. Tried to google but the stuff must be too old? Knowing where it came from, its got to be at least 40 years.

Try bending one? That will give you an idea also, needs to be stiff and springy for Ortho.

A jeweler or pawn shop could do an acid test to see if it is a precious metal.
