far as i know they all burn up clean during sinter, leaving no trace.

Thanks. Someone on FB said that Ed McLaren did some tests and certain food dyes can alter the value so I was wondering if anyone here knew something more.

I think I heard that one from Ed, also. I believe it has something to do with propylene glycol in some of the food coloring brands.
Some of the off brands like Kroger etc don't contain the glycol, but you'll need to confirm it before you buy it.

glycol would act as a thinning agent, to help the fluid penetrate deep in the zirconia where water and oils or acids sort of sit on the surface.

adding glycol to your colouring kits is what i have advocated for for ages.

Some food colors leave a grey is what he said I believe. Its been 3 years since i heard it.
