Just wanted to comment...
Yesterday I pressed a couple HTA2 rings and the only thing I did different was I put the rings into a cold burnout oven.
Pressed, and then devested.
You know I was always getting a porous surface texture. Didnt bother me, but it wasnt perfect, so it did a little.
After burning out in a cold oven, the surface texture went away and left me a perfect surface. (The way I left it in wax.)
So is this rapid burn out the player in this crappy surface texture?
Comments?

That's interesting...maybe the investment surface is harder after a long set. It would seem that this would prevent it from attaching itself to the molten glass. Did you still have a reaction layer?
Try another one and give us a report.

The reaction layer didnt change must. We use Cerivety from Shofu to invest our pressables. The reaction layer has always been slim and easy to blast.
For now Im going to put my rings in a cool oven and will comment later on the results.
