so I received some models to make some crowns and veneers, 3m models pale light blueish color,
solid, no dies, how can anyone work with these?
I could not see any margin on the preps.
.am I missing something or is just a bad digital impression?

We use 3M's margin marking software to ditch and section the die, then have 3M print them. I think you missed a step

Useless. It needs to be ran through their software first.

So I am wanting to silicone duplicate a printed model from Argen .
It's the Model T stone replicate version I use for c&b ,white with a coarse surface.

The silicone adheres too well and seems to not cure to the model surface,
Maybe I'm impatient but I'm wondering if anyone else has had success duping these models with silicone.

Any surface release agents that might work? Silicone spray? I'm currently trying acrylic separator and die lubricant but they stain the model.
Yes, printing with another material resin will probably work but I want to dupe this material first.

Why not just print another one? Got some old gypsum products to use up?

I want to process an acrylic denture on the stone dupe.
Did you try an invisibly thin layer of vaseline? Never failed me yet when everything else does.

Probably would work. It would be nice to be able to deliver a pristine model so there's that.

The separator is water soluable so it seems to be the front runner. I used to have silicone spray but am looking for a quick solution today.

cool, I may have some of that and it makes sense since the gingifast is a similar material.

have you tried silicone spray?

have you tried silicone spray?
I did, it works but is too messy to my liking... the problem with the printed models is that the silicone duplicating material goes into the layer separations making it stick...you need a wax based separator to fill those crevices...

Yes I have...it's pricey but dam good silicone. PolyPour from GC, works good. We just bead/box the the printed model

So I just poured the duped model in hydrocal.

What are those small round holes I see ? Could they be called "bubbles"? ....feeling nostalgic...🦕

Thanks for the tip zero.
I tried a product called Hi-Gloss liquid wax glaze from George Taub Products.
It's used for glazing waxups. It sealed the printed model great and gave it that morning fresh look .
The silicone removed perfectly and I just poured a test stone model.

wax based was the clue I was looking for. you are the peoplekind! :D
