Just regular Nuts and bolts....start wrenching! What's your question exactly?

Should be self-explainatory...?

I believe it is spring-loaded draw-bar that the little baby motor pushes down on to open the collet/drawbar thingy if I remeber correctly....Been years since I took mine apart that I had.

Take the drawbar out....

You sound like you are not qualified to be working on this.

Go get a friend with some mechanical skills.

This is so stupid easy to do....???

Nothing hidden or that difficult about it.

Very straight forward procedure to disassemble the spindle in a Roland! Super basic stuff!

don't be an ass, if had a little instruction and knew what the proper tools are and the actual names of the parts i could easily take this apart. which part is the draw bar? unfortunately this very basic machine comes with no technical repair manual explaining what the part are. a little help and not ridicule is in order.

the collet broke in half in the spindle. the screw shank is still in the spindle.

If you cannot access it to unscrew you gotta remove the whole spindle...then take it apart...the spring inside is quite strong, so be careful with it... Do you have a replacement collet BTW ?

Don't forget to score the height of the spindle in the holder with a sharp tool...it helps when you put it together.

little motor pushes down on the drawbar.

This opens the collet.

You probably cannot unscrew the collet without removing the drawbar, or at minimum making motor push down on the drawbar....then cut power to the mill Once this is pushing down.

Very very simple mechanism! Nothing to it!

Some pics would be helpful, to see what you mean...

the drawbar is stuck in the collet

Adding a little heat to the drawbar Once it is removed, and collet will release.

I think you found a friend that knows something about nuts and bolts already though...

Bob, I am adding good advice.

Why do you feel the need to click on "Old"?

I am sure more people will have Roland issues.

How does your input help in any way at all?

It is new info, and very useful for having two pieces of metal stuck together.

If you don't like my posts, then PLEASE by all means click on "Ignore" for my account.

Then you won't be bothered by any of my old posts ever again. OK?
