Been bouncing around the idea for a while now between opening my lab here (California) or moving to Sweden and work there as a lab tech; anyone here currently in Sweden or familiar with the dental lab requirements/job outlook there?

I have friends there, but no idea on the lab climate

Its one of those places i've always liked, plus it checks many of the boxes in what I like. I lived in Italy for 2 years, and while i liked that part of Europe, i always prefered Nordic countries.

Read their news. They are having substantial issues with a population that is not very interested in assimilating. The non-aligned thing gets interesting at times too.
On a health note, there are largish patches still with heavy radioactivity from Chernobyl's issue. Some quite near population centers.
But I hear that 20 years ago it was a nice place.
