dollar store paintbrushes
Does anybody know what brush Lucas is using in this video (at 3:40+)? It looks nice. Nice width, length, firmness and saturation. It also looks to be metal free.
Don't get bamboozled.

I pick these up. The ferrule is plastic. The plastic eventually gets pitted but it doesn't leave residue like metal would.
The golden plastic ferrule has no flex but the bristles themselves are a medium stiffness. Not too stiff, and not flimsy. I used the bamboo brushes for a while but I much prefer these Taklon brushes. It's worth a try for the cost.Or is that what the golden wrapper is around the bush bristles themselves, as far as flex?
looks like this one...

If you don't mind WalMart, they sell a larger pack with more variation for roughly the same price point.http://www.michaels.com/craft-smart...10408282.html#q=golden+taklon+brushes&start=6
