Whats the difference between an MCI & NTI splint?

Whats the difference between an MCI & NTI splint?
With both splints I know they finish at the 3s,
Does one have full contact with the opposing teeth
and the other have contact with the opposing centrals only?

NTI is centrals and MCI is laterals and centrals
