How hasn't some company picked up on this and isn't pushing out thousands of these.
Actually, I seem to recall seeing a foam buff made in Germany. Looked like a dish scrubber on a mandril..
My initial thoughts were it was ridiculously expensive and you could make it yourself for nearly nothing.

waste of time.

pre visualise how the set up will most likely end up...
make your wax rims dimensions fit that vision.
then finish them with a flame.

spend your time on what's important, needed and necessary.
You are obviously unaware that many clinicians place high value on shiny, whether it serves a purpose or not.

Besides,it takes seconds and conveys a sense of clean deliberate work.
That DOES have value, intangible though it may seem...

If they cost similar to Robinson brush it would sell like hotcakes.

The only thing they like better than shiny is a blue light. If we could put a blue light in the wax rim their heads would explode.

How to make foam buff..
Thanks for the video Tom, I kept trying this on my lathe on low speed and was getting a couple of dull spots on and off. Really appreciate it, have had a few comments now from drs about how shiny they are now!

Thanks Robbo and JTG. Little nuances that make a difference in the overall projection of value.
Hope to see you at LMT Chicago...

Yep, and it's the projection and perception of value that set apart the work. It may be all functional, but does it make them feel like you put something "special" into it, and make them feel special. We sell ideas as much as prosthesis.

maybe a small battery, a micro membrane pressure switch under a 2nd molar and a surface mount LED under each canine and 1st premolar? It'd all be sealed in acrylic, so no leaching issues from the battery.

Oh, man, now I'm gonna have to try and make something like this in clear!

That's very well put.

How to make foam buff..

Great idea. Ive always lightly flamed the wax and then quickly buffed with a cold wet cotton ball. I'll have to try this out though.

This works much better and faster, although you could do it with a wet cotton ball too..

....and no one has suggested ideal room temps yet:rolleyes:
As long as your room is between 67.41 and 68.57 you should be good.
