Can the alveolar nerve split off into multiple canals?

Maybe this is a question for the dr, I’ve only been doing guides for about a year, but this one’s got me stumped, never seen it before, it almost looks like the nerve splits into separate branches? Is that possible? I know right at the start it can sometimes branch off a bit towards the anterior, but it looks like there’s another separate branch to the canal from there, or maybe it’s just some strange bony defect? Anyone seen this before?

Yep, entirely possible.

for anyone curious, confirmed with the dr, it splits into multiple canals. e the case an absolute nightmare since one of the canals goes strait up towards the implant placement site (28).
