I like the fact where they say the handheld scanner is good to 4 microns, :)

It seems to me that it would solve a bunch of undercut issues if we could use one of those things.

I have been fighting a bar case today that I am scanning that has some wicked buccle bone that is super undercut with one fixture that is below the height of contour of the bone. Getting the positioning indicator to scan and getting the cast to scan clean has been a real bitch. If I could move the laser like this thing it would have been cake!

Of course I eventually one but I hate having to jump through hoops~!

John, a couple of things that I found interesting were the ability to control the amount of binder for strength and the ability to inject colour during printing.

The handheld scanner is neat but an intraoral scan is really all you need here.Forget the models .

Print the denture with A2 anteriors and A3 posts, pink flanges and palate custom shaded of course.

I have that wrench file and printed it five years ago.

Dimention printers have poor resolution.
They have patent on color 3d printing, but so what?

I made a full spectrum rainbow of printed items and metallic, and trans.

I use M.E.K. with Sharpie marker guts dropped in to penetrate the 3D Systems plastic. Like Easter Eggs.

Man, there is no way in hell a milling machine is going to get that accurate and that fine of detail. Makes me say to myself to 'open' my scanner up so I can take advantage of the printing quality versus the milled crap PMMA I see.

Sure is.

I think Objet in Isreal is working on it.

Multi-material printer. Just need Bio-compat material and FDA blah blah.

I have a 3D Systems printer. I can use (modified) it as any 3D Systems printer.

It has no name. My Bologna has a first name.

I use Two Chafin servers (food warmers) as seen in Resturants, with hot water.

I have Five divided sections....Three with Oil at 185F and Two larger for water and soapy water also at 185F.

I throw away oil when it solidifies at room temp, and slide the other Two over. New oil goes in the last/Third pan.

My parents have one of those old TVs.

I had one of the envisiontec printers.

Not a big fan of that overpriced TV with a single motor and a piece of glass on top.

That is what we use. Great company to work with. Dentures are not far away.

It is not if it can be done now but from what I’m told they are not ready for cable let alone prime time. The problem is getting materials that are esthetic enough and then getting them through the FDA.

This is how we make a CAD CAM denture: We scan them with 3Shape, and then we send them to a giant milling machine (seriously!) :)

These are the giant dentures we are adding to the newest car in our fleet.

then he attaches a wind up wheel, and little feet to it, and the thing is pointed in the direction of the dentist, wound up and it speeds off chomping and stompin its way across town ....
