Hello guys
"Thinking about upgrading our CAD/CAM system — which one would you go for: XTCERA XMILL 500 Plus or Roland DWX-52Di Plus? Any real-life feedback or experience would really help!"

I have a few 52's. I like them. I have had issues with the disc changers (common problem with them). Other than that it has been just regular maintenance. Great for zirconia. I mill some pmma with them and it does fine but it is a little slow. The spindle is probably underpowered for dense materials. I have tried trilor and acetal. More issues on those type items. Probably depends on what you use it for and the support provided

what CAM are you planning on using?
and what do you plan on milling?

I think HyperDent, mostly I’ll be using it for zirconia and PMMA.
i have no first hand with Xtcera mills, but i do have a few rolands. they are champ work horses in general though the 52s were a bit less reliable...which is why i dont have a 52 lol

52s are fine for zirconia, although I can't recommend the disc changer-equipped version, the design inherently sucks and tends to be quite unreliable. They're also quite underpowered for PMMA- doesn't mean you can't run PMMA, just expect very long part times compared to a mill with a proper backbone and beefier spindle.
