OK, I'm gonna share a big secret...

Water base white out is your friend!!!!

I use it all the time instead of spray.

1.lightly sandblast the abutment to cut down reflection and help the whiteout stick. (do not blast gold hue abutments unless you don't want gold hue abutments :)
2. use water to thin out water based white out. (make it really thin, like a slurry)
3. apply whiteout to the abutment and allow to dry for 20 seconds .
4. using a clean tissue, wipe off as much as you can. (don't create friction by buffing the abutment, this will put a shine on it)
5. SCAN!!!
6. clean the abutments.
it works. remember, its not color, its reflection.
the best part about this technique is that it is so thin that you don't have to adjust your die interface, and you can handle the abutment with out fear of wiping it off.

this was done quickly just so I could take photos for this post. please excuse any sloppy work. :)

No, you're just terrible at spray-painting. LOL

It works great, and the alchohol evaporates in 2 sec.

Definatly the most popular spray for scanning all across America.

I love Spot-Check from Magnaflux. It's the best and the cheapest.

Like anything else if you follow the instructions on the can and actually shake the can and spray from the required distance it goes on super thin and clean and dry. If your douching the model from 3 inches its gunna take longer for the alcohol to evaporate.

Exactly. If you spray too much just blow on it and you will see the liquid disappear and leave the powder behind. This whiteout thing seems like too much work, sandblast, dilute, apply, wipe off... just spray it.

I like it (especially for multi unit cases) because it adds no thickness and you can Handel the abutments without distorting or wiping it off. Spray has always been so inconsistent for me, but I will try some of the other brands that you are recommending and see how it goes.

I use Yeti Occlusal Powder. Just brush it on and blow off the excess. Works like a charm. Also is great for soft tissue.

That is what i do and even better result i put my product to be sprayed in the vacuum trap on my work bench with vacuum on and i spray very fast very thin and you can see the titanium abutment or etc. turning white in an innstant.
