Hi our french friend; i sorry to hear that ,, i know a lot of chinese lab made really bad crowns. because i have seen it ,, really bad , i can understand all of foreigner`s worry . i work with sky dental lab more then 7 years , foreigner lab ,all of american case ,, the boss told , the quality are very important to us ,,,. as i know you request ,, post some of Picture when i was working case..

That sing song post making fun of another technician because of his ethnicity was racist and meant to hurt and bolster your position in the custom dental device delivery chain and had nothing to do with what you buy.

You manufacture with the least trained and cheapest labor that can get the job done. But you must get the job done.

The reason that the offshore labs are moving in on 50% of the domestic work is they provide greater value for the price than their domestic counterparts. More and more dentist every day are just not buying what most here have to sell.

You can make all the passive aggressive comments you want but I will not only do this until I don't want to anymore but I have people in line to buy my business.

I'm also proud to be an American. In fact I was not born here. At 17 I raised my hand and took an oath be be an American and went in harms way for this country and pay for that until this day. You pay the flag card on someone else. I just refuse to be a ugly acting or a stupid American

On a side note.. not sure if i should take offense because of my asian heritage... or find it funny because I was born and raised domestically... most of my friends really get a kick when I do my asian accent... regardless, you shouldn't judge a technician by his language skills... let the work speak for itself... in this case... mediocre... I've made better temporaries...

Your right I don't know the exact percentage but it's still growing and my business is still growing and much faster than last year.

Your right again the technology is changing the game. We already have a milling center on the west coast and we are opening a milling center in Texas right after the first of the year and in more places next year. They will take care of the 24 hr stuff and the people that want cheaper and want to wait a few more days it will go to the China plant via email file. lt will be in the lab less than 24hr and remember we are open 24/7. Then a 24 hr FedEx trip to almost anywhere in the USA form and don't forget it picks up 12 hrs coming back this way....well you can see. Very quick service.

Go down to car row in your town and look at the names on the signs. Those offshore cars are made here now because it became more efficient and more profitable to do so. Why would you think the offshore products serving dentistry will be any different? You really think the plan offshore is to walk off from over a billions dollars worth of business?

Call and ask Ivoclar if they sell much to labs in China. We have been using their products for all the time I have been involved. Its not about the cost of material it about the cost of labor.

I understand the fear that is part of being a small lab in a world thats just not going to pay the kind of prices it takes to make a lifestyle here. We all know those that introduce and describe themselves as a small high end lab. Many will not be able to make it because that fast dwindling customer base that will pay that price point will just not be enough to sustain them all.

These people have a right to be very afraid.

Nothing against business..by far. I love capitalism, and Im not an isolationist. Every crown thats out sourced to anything other than US labor is one fewer crown that could and would be done by US labor. Increased demand= more employment and more money in circulation in this country. Since the labor cost of an over seas crown isnt just minus one job for a US citezen, its maybe six(?) times that out of the economy that feeds everyone here, I gotta say (you know who),its kind'a un American.

I wouldn't equate your business increase as that all Chinese dental labs are doing well. You've probably worked hard to get the Chi-coms to produce something half way decent and acceptable to most Dentists. Knowing you, that's exactly what you've done. However, the last time I checked (DLP survey) the offshoring resulted in 21.8% of all U.S. sales. Now, that does include other countries as well, including that one Jimbo uses to. Lately the trend, as you have explained has been to manufacture here in the U.S. because of the digital technology. I can only hope this becomes more prevalent because as that Username stud mentioned, it's a good thing to put Americans back to work, even if half of them voted for a nimrod for the presidency
