Hi Guys can someone with a DWX 50 help me out. I am about to buy one but I was just wanting to know do I have to use Zirconia discs with a stepped shoulder.

I have a few discs from my other machine that I would like to use but they have no steps on them.

I use sum3D CAM software and can use either.

aren't the steps due to the thickness of the blank? the blank holder covers the 98mm puck a little all the way round so a thick blank has a shoulder to allow the ring to be screwed down?

I don't actually have mill so could be talking out of my ar*e

The non step pucks limit the thickness of blank you can use. There are two different thickness screw down clamps that come with the Roland to accommodate this.

10mm (h) 98mm (d) no step works fine on ours with sum3D.
