Hi DLN,

a good client of ours has requested a 4 unit PFM bridge which was returned due to a supposed misunderstanding of the prescription notes. Before I react, I'd like your opinion on this.

To avoid any bias I am just posting the notes and ask you:

How would the 4 unit bridge look like in terms of porcelain coverage?

Thanks! :)

I read it that they want a PFM bridge with no metal showing on the buccal but a metal band everywhere else. That’s how I would have done it. No metal occlusion, no metal contacts, no full metal lingual.

Porcelain on the buccal only. Metal occlusals, linguals, and mesial and distal contacts.

“Everywhere else” is part of the sentence with “metal band palatally”, so it’s referring to the band, not the entire thing.

I agree, if it isn't clear enough where you have to ask on a forum, a call sounds wonderful to me :)
Since the Dr returned the bridge supposedly because of him not understanding the notes, I think he wanted to see who was wrong on his design. Him or the Dr.
I'm thinking the Dr is wanting a free remake

remake you didn't read the prescription right! i said put porcelain on buccal, and metal band, but did not specify the material for everywhere else! you should not misinterpret that!

The OP hasn’t yet told us how the bridge was made or what the Dr actually intended.

Yep, that's why I found the post, and this thread to be a little confusing, but it doesn't take to much for me :) :)

Without reading the other commentaries: metal collar '270 degrees'. I do not read metal occlusion or even full metal palatally.
