Possibly wrong here, but the metals in our alloys are covalently bonded together anyway and cant release to their constituent elements except when adding LOT of energy, as in casting (or bruxing used car dealers). Right??

indeed only certain kinds of metals can be filtered once mixed together. but even then the filtration used is an inefficient and bothersome method. in the case of the metals that we use to cast no you can't separate them once alloyed together. if it were a "simple" case of separating Iron from Nickel well thats easIER but still ineffective. the resultant filtration ends up a ferrofluid, and doesnt capture much Iron to begin with.
