we have been using the x-rite system for years. We have one common problem. Most of the shade guides look grey green compared to natural teeth when we shoot them and put them into the program Any one have any suggestions?

Are you shooting them in that black box they provide? It eliminates the outside light influences.

no we are not. we put the teeth in pink wax at the ging margin. we also place the shade tab in the same manner. Are we screwing up?

That x-rite machine was calibrated to the mouth (no outside light influences) and if you shoot a picture without duplicating this, then it will not be accurate. It's okay to use the pink wax, but put it in the black box when you shoot the picture and you should see the problems resolved.
