Back to the topic at hand. I am a start up. Yep, stoopid. lol. From what I see there is work for Hand e. The difficulty is making a living wage in an environment that encourages a fast track to wealth. I understand cheap.

The shrinking middle class and poor need cheap. Cheap crowns is what is marketable today. The other side of the coin is the persons that fall on the other side of the chasm. Yuppies. Dentists, Managers, CEO's etc. They pay for special products.

There is also a growing desire for elite products. Retail knows this. The Auto market knows this. Bringing the public and our dental community around to some embarrassing facts is the ceiling we must punch through. Why would you spend more on a purse than on a crown you permanently install in your mouth?

I get the technology. Technology is good. Hand made is good. Can the two exist side by side? It appears that hnd made is losing.

At the moment we are at the beginning of the real digital cad cam period with only some changes to produce faster with a constant quality by using these machinery. The product ways are still classic at the moment but if the intra oral scanners come coverage and the possibilities what software can create get more and more the classical way gets less.
It doesn't mater which way the scanned data's go to normal lab,to mill center , to chines lab no problem just a few seconds,the temptation is greater to try it.A second imagination the big milling centers maybe industry gives doc full service send the data they model and mill or print that for the doc no lab needed. the small Chinese guys model for the doc send the stl back to the doctor he mills it on his imes 140 and normal lab looks in the dark. Future knocks on the door.

I spoke with you on the phone a couple of time and you seem to be friendly, helpful and go out of your way to help others and you know you stuff. But if you want your massage to be understood and respected by others it has to be conveyed with respect and having the other side worth and humanity in mind ( i am not speaking as a wise guy but as an elder guy). No way anybody would get his message across with anger and disrespect because you will lose the meaning of your message. Assertiveness with respect is the best way to convoy your ideas.
I am not a communication specialist, i am just an observer and it pains me to see these shouting matches for winner /loser kind of game.

Our friend edy in Israel asked a question only, i do not think he deserve to be treated like that, i have been in this business for a long time and many things i still do not know, now i and many others are hesitant to ask a question to avoid being hanged.

This great site was created by good people so that we in this tough times could exchange ideas with civility and respect. Thanks you and i will mind my business for now.

My success story:

Come to this Country in 1994 with less than $500 in my pocket. Been already an adult. Do you know how and what immigration means, to move to different Country without anything.??
No skills,no English [sorry, can not spell right by this time properly, can talk and read a lot]
got married,have two nice and smart kids[both in University],one is very dedicated and promising swimmer swimming for USC ,paying in full for their education,[no loans].
Hit my first milestone 2 years ago, bought a house,almost paid off mortgage,planning early retirement in about 6-8 years,here is my short and yes "little guy" story success. Maybe not impressive for big shuts like you but good enough for me on my level,good enough to enjoy my life and good enough for my family to prosper.
....and yes, I love this Country and have nothing to do with communism! I respect successful people besides one of my mentors been very rich guy here in LA,my first boss and teacher and friend. You are right I may know less than you, and not smart as you. It is all yours here,go ahead. You blow out my candle here forever,have no desire and interest!!!!

In the last 5 years I have been to 6 funerals of tech friends, 2 older 3 younger 1 my age. I started my lab here there were over 50 labs in my county now 13, but it is 35 years later. Our boys went to work in restaurants, better pay less hours, shorter stres, but still stresful. they worry about a meal for an hour I have a Denture for years.
I worked only 12 hrs Sat but will probably do 18-20 Sunday at 59 & holding it's getting harder to put in the removable hours to make ends meet. I'm hoping to last another 10 years, digital may be in C&B but until folks want a mono-color denture I don't see milled dentures. milling a baseplate and gluing in teeth might work if the ridge gives you enough space.

Thanks I agree with some of what you have said , but the "Sponsor" can be rude and arrogant towards others. But its only my opinion ! I`m thick skinned so it doesn`t worry me personally - but I also try to consider other peoples feelings. If I ranted on like that I would have been shot down in flames I think .

Elizabeth Curran posted a few days back on facebook that the ACP studies show that the number of dental labs is shrinking, but the number of technicians is growing, as are wages.

I think it's safe to say things are changing, but I wouldn't say the industry is dead-far from it.
