I have a client with a patient wanting a "Grill" in Gold. Any ideas on how to design this in Exocad? How do these stay in the mouth? I want to mill this out. All help greatly appreciated.

I'm surprised the dentist is agreeing to this.

17000 is too little - that should be per arch if anything -

1. you need the right alloy mixture - else it's a waste of money and time.
2. you need to know what TYPE of grill he wants so you can create the right undercuts etc etc
3. DO NOT agree to set in the stones - take that to a jeweler - you are only taking care of the frame itself OR the jeweler can come and show you what settings you need.

This is very time consuming and i'm not sure it'll be worth it to you - but you can use your snap on smile module to do this :)

So the guy paid the doc, we charged the doc a $5k lab fee. It was Two Ounces of a Precious silver alloy. Likely gold and palladium, but I don't remember exactly what except that it was about $1k for the allow and lots of labor. Would defiantly be nicer if done with CAD as I was no jeweler. You could probably find some STLs of textures/patterns to use in a grill, or make your own patter. I would import the STLs into 3 shape. You may even be able to fins a plastic grill from the $.50 machine at WalMart. Scan it, and then make attachments from that. Setup a library sort of.

Yes Titanium, obviously someone that want real gold that will not make it, but in TI anodized gold it would look awesome for a lower price haha

I wonder what it feels like putting those things in.

I can just imagine pushing them in while the metal rubs/scratches against your teeth until it snaps in :arghh:

That just gave me shivers
