will you be doing much adjustment to these with wax before pressing?

Its got the "3shape" look going on at the minute.

*waits for the 3shape defence force...

Nice how thick is the facial. Looks like I can see the die through the wax.

Did you time your self or do you have a realistic estimate of how long it took you to scan and design and fit the patterns.
Thanks.

Why not do this in emax cad?

1-profit only 3 ingots for 12 units
2- more esthetic
3-easy to modify if anything need to be change
4-press is stronger over cad emax

1.On a large case such as this, John Wilson made a great point that you should be charging extra for the total design and fabrication rather than invoice for 12 singles.
Also the extra labour involved in sprueing, investing, pressing, and finishing makes me question the if the savings are worth it especially if you agree with John.

2.The advantage of emax cad is that you can design a facial cutback without exceeding the minimal thickness therefore I find the esthetics are equally as good as with pressed.

3.It is far easier to modify a precrystalized emax crown than grinding a pressed crown,in fact we are seeing cracking of pressed emax when excess heat is applied to thin areas. This is not the case with emax cad, therefore I find it far easier to modify cad.

4. Press is minimally stronger than cad and I don't think the difference is enough to result in success over failure especially if the unit is bonded.Certainly that is not an issue with anteriors. As for posteriors ,if it was to be cemented I would go with pfz instead.

Don't get me wrong,I have nothing against pressing,it's just that I find I am finding more benefits towards emax cad.

not sure how it equates to $ prices but 3 ingots in the UK equates to about £35-40. plus 3 bags of investment and overall id say thats less than the cost of 1 emax cad crown from the likes of nobel or straumann.

thats a HUGE difference.

(unless your milling your own on craplab but youd be fitting down, and adjusting contacts and occlusion for half the day then *shudder.. the memories of doing those cases on that thing)

going slow it would take me about 10mins max to divest all 3 rings.

so for me personally, theres no way on earth id consider doing these cases with emax cad.

12 units x $350 =$4200+$ 45( shade selection)...$4245 total

12x $59 = $ 708 cost

total profit 4245-708=$3537
