@Travis can this be highlighted and posted at the top of the thread?
and home page?
and every page?
It needs to be sent to the NADL and every other dental laboratory organization in the country. Person to person should still matter. It truly should. Our society is becoming VERY transactional. From doctor/patient relationships, even some marriages, and we society is becoming less and less connected because of it.

I suggest everyone that finds this thread go to glassdoor and look at the employee reviews at dandy, its tragically comical.. and its not just the techs writing most of these reviews, its software engineers, salesman, designers. Any Dr with a concsience should have a problem supporting this company. It takes 5 minutes to see that they are sending their design work to egypt and turkey, having robots mill everything out, and have non-trained techs man auto-glaze machines. To quote one review ' the oceangate of startups' .. 'burning through capital' 'the most toxic workplace' 'sweatshop' 'unrealistic goals' 'ran by ivy league bros whose dental knowlege is that they went to a dentist and figured out, hey I have teeth, how can I make a billion dollars ' Trust me its worth the time!
This is the form of "crony capitalism" that I hate. Big insurance companies are also buying up 50 quick care clinics in a local area. So the residents of that area will be forced to pay whatever the big insurance company wants, AND continue to pay their premiums. An apartment complex got bought up by a large VC firm recently, and they raised rents by as much as 50% for some residence of the facility.

I prefer "lemonade stand capitalism." Want to provide a cold cup of lemonade for workers headed home? Got the best lemonade in town? Open up a stand and sell it. The problem comes when there are lemonade stands on every street that is owned by the same entity. That forces out anyone who actually might have a new innovative idea. Consolidation of business by big VC firms cause innovation to become stagnant.

Hi all. I am a dentist that has been lurking on these forums -- thank you all for being such a great resource!

I'm currently sending some complete denture (printed resin) cases to Dandy (might be a dirty word in these parts...), at a total cost of ~$350/arch. Common story -- I got started with them when one of their salespeople convinced me to try it in exchange for a "free scanner." The fit & quality have been surprisingly good, and I am aware of the limitations of printed resin dentures.

I would love for you dental lab pros to "roast me" here, and tell me what I am doing wrong.

- Are printed resin dentures junk?
- Is $350/arch too expensive for 3D printed dentures?
- Am I stupid for not buying a scanner and finding a local lab that can print resin dentures at higher quality and lower cost?
- Should I consider buying a printer and bringing this in-house? (5-10 complete removable cases/month)

I don't have a "question," per se, but would love to hear feedback from people that are smarter and more knowledgeable than me. I'm sure that my processes could be improved a lot, and that you all have some valuable insight.

Thanks!
They're junk.
350 is way too cheap for digital because it has a higher cost than analog.
If you're going to do digital you might as well buy a scanner because the free ones are usually low end, that's the reason they give it to you with their cheap work, but it makes it easier for them to send it to China if you digitize it for them.
And yes you should buy a scanner, buy the equipment to do your 3D printing in house. We already know you're not using Dandy because you want to save the money to pass on to the patient.
It is well established, if you want to save money, you DIY. And that way you can save all that money for yourself.
