Is it non-precious? Back when I worked in a lab that used Lite Cast B, there was always a layer of slag left in the crucible, I think it's supposed to stay there? It didn't stick, just lift it out and toss it.

I will use base metal :)

Oh, this STICK! and then after few castings its a 3mm thick layer of metal that CANT be removed so easy ....

I can remove some parts of it...but it sure does stick to the bottom and that is a problem.

Well they didnt told me in my supply store for LoliPot :D ...looks nice! hope it will work

Someone once told me that the flux would leave a glaze on the crucible that
may help - not sure if it will change property of casting if it gets on to alloy.
How old was that crucible?

When I had to use base metal for Maryland bridges, I used my old gold casting crucible that had a lot of buildup of flux and it worked great. Then buy a new gold crucible and everybody is happy:)

You pretty much always get some residue left when casting Non Precious, however, it usually comes out of the crucible quite easily (a little scrape should do it) I don't think flux is a good idea though.

Yea, We always De-Glaze our new crucibles with some flux and torch.
