One other factor to consider is Ivoclars pricing going forward if you purchase their Wieland wet/dry mill. Rumor is the blue blocks will priced significantly lower than what you can get thru Patterson. Of course, with any such corporate strategy, it's all fungible...

Ivoclar will have a proprietary holder for their less expensive blue blocks;)

Just getting back to the big single spindle machine dental axess they all still have bearing and chucks that will wear.the spindles in the zz are nearly 5 years old and used everyday are only just now wearing.i think that is pretty good.I still think getting some one else to wet mill for you is best as wet mill machines have a much harder life and cost more to run.This is what my colleges tell me who have wet mills by the way you can stick a big single spindle on the zz machine also but I just wouldn't for the reasons previously stated which are right for this thread.
