Have I been milling in 4 axis or is the 20 degree axis limit the real limiting factor?

edit: never mind, a 4 axis answer to a 5 axis question.

It looks like 3Shape maybe? Which I am not familiar with (I do think they have some interesting terminology though).

I would say that using the 3+1(4) axis setting will prepare the machine for 3+1 milling (block-out undercuts).

I am not familiar with the “cad block rotation” settings. Might be the maximum insertion direction that can be set.

So depending on which machine you have, that can be set to a max of 35 for the 5x400 and 5XS (although we do not recommend pushing to the extremes).

Drill compensation: For zirconia, the drill radius should be set to 0.6mm. For PMMA and Wax it is typically set to 0.4mm.

Not sure this helps...

Thank you..What sparked my curiosity was the way Argen has theirs set up. Axsys being the major supplier for milling machines for them I was wondering if I am set up correctly. Here is their settings. My smallest drill in the number 3 position is a 0.6 or a 0.3 in HD in the No. 4 tool position.I have the VersaMill 5xs

not sure what you are looking at is what Argen has setup. They have made modifications to suit their business. The best bet would be to call our Technical Support. They are the smart ones. I only USED to be smart...;)
