Attach cerec omnicam/bluecam to laptop

Hello folks,

Is it possible to attach a dental omnicam to my laptop runnig cerec sw 4.0?
I read that omnicam is connected with ethernet/LAN cable to PC while bluecam connects to PC with USB 2.0.
Don't need to buy another cerec AC for 50k to do it. I want to use it for easy mobile scan.

Any solution?

where or how would you buy the omnicam? The ogres at patterson would never sell you one seperately..

Yes you are right. And the price for the omnicam from cerec will be frightening.

May be a better solution its better:

1. Get a laptop with icore7 - $1000
2. Buy 3shape CAD/CAM - ??? / or use Cerec inlab 4.0 software
3. 3M True Definition scanner with stl export to 3shape - $12,000

If I bought a used omnicam CPU without License on Ebay, and bought on the other hand
1. Omnicam camera
2. Cerec 4.3 software with License
Do you think that would work??
