we've recently started using our origin 5000 as a wet mill for metals, but it's taking 50 minutes to mill out a single coping. it seems absurdly slow. is anyone getting any better times?

I used to do it with my Origin 5000. Took 25-30 minutes. Call Daniel or Ben At B&D...

You must have wrong strategy. I am using 2.5mm bull nose flat tool for roughing, 2mm and 1mm for semi roughing, finishing. 3 tools. if it simple coping it should be 25min around. Call and ask for Ben or Jesse for strategy check up. I think Jesse probably. I have same 5000 and new Proteus 5X machine. Proteus 5X is amazing. Love it.

Does the Origin 5000 and the new Proteus use the same burs?

were you using the flat tool strategy?
Couldn't tell you - it's been a couple years. Tried to get PFTi going, but didn't see many takers. Got tired of cleaning the mill for a unit here and there. Now, if I get one, I just have B&D mill it...
