Cool id like to see it when its done! Is it not possible to mill an attatchment? Is this a prefab attachment or did you cast it??

I will post some pics when it is done . I can't mill ceka attatchments , at least from what I know of . The attachment is going to be casted in Ti , and then laser welded to the bar . I don't know if the whole casting thing is going to work , but I will try it anyway and see how this turns out . Fingers crossed !!

there ya go! to save yourself a little time, you probably only need 1 additional connector on the extended bar segment, not 3.

The attachments are already casted . I didn't do it . The lab I am outsourcing my partial dentures did it for me . Tomorrow the upper bar will be milled , then laser welding of the attachments , hopefully everything will be ok , Monday try out . Keeping my fingers crossed !!!

Only one attachment will be used , at 33 .

Oops I was talking about the sprues that hold the bar in the puck during milling.

Ah ok , didn't realize it was the attachments !!! It was my first try , so this will have to be improved . Today I will mill the second bar .

Hi Drizzt,

Why bothering doing all this cad work to finalized the bar with laser welding and casting part? Why not full cad-cam the whole product?

Hi bernigts ,

I don't have the software for bars , I scanned the model , another lab designed it for me and I milled it . We wanted to use ceka attachments , and as far as I know there are no ceka attachments in a library , at least the guy who designed the bar , doesn't have it . That's why we casted the attachment's female part and laser weld it .

Cool!

I may put fewer links/sprues on the Titanium and of a smaller diameter.

That's just me? Are you using down-milling for final finishing operation in your cam?

Surface finish looks a little "shredded" to me? But it looks good...not really knocking ya!

I think Titanium is a kinda soft and sticky alloy. No? Kinda mills like a wax and leaves burrs

Thanks Scott ,

Are you talking about the sprues/link made of Cam for the milling ? They were 1 mm . You would go less than that
?

Surface is not very good , I agree with you , but as you said , Ti is a little different than other alloys . It is my first time working with it on a case like this , so I am learning . Next time I hope it will be better .

I don't fully understand what you mean with "down milling " so I am afraid I can't answer that .

Screw retained ? With 3 implants placed at the lower jaw ? All on 3 ? First time I hear that !

Also the upper has 4 implants placed , 2 at the centrals and 2 at the canines . We would make a screw retained bridge to restore only from canine to canine ?

I really cannot understand how this case could have been done with screw retained bridges .

Please share your thoughts with me !

Sorry, did not see that there were only three impl in the lower jaw. in the upper jaw you can stretch max up to 15/25. Of course you have to look at who the patient is .....

Nice work!
