The D900 only runs on impression material LOL.

just for my brain do you compare trios ios scan from the mouth with D 900 from impression or both from an impression .

Cadfan,

I'm just saying that every lab scanner is only as accurate as the physical impression that it scans.
Therefore if we use a Trios to scan a model , then I doubt there would be much difference. Perhaps more so with bars.

However a Trios IOS is more accurate than a D900 model scan from an impression.

I disagree RKM. A verification jig should be made and you can scan that model. It's only

the soft tissue that changes, not the implant position. So the verification jig will be sectioned

and luted back together in the correct position and picked up in an impression right? Then

only is the tissue subject to change. Scanning scan abutments on top of the model then

is more accurate.

Good point Ken,

however your variable is the material used to make the jig ,the impression material, and the luting process/verification.(ie xray).

If we're still talking about bars then you are probably correct since that is not my area of expertise.

I think the Trios is rated up to a 4 or 6 unit bridge.

We're splitting microns here.
