No, it's a Milk snake.
Rattlesnakes are endangered in Vermont and only live in one very tiny part of the state, there are only a few hundred of them.

I didn't know that...it looks just like the Michigan eastern Massasauga rattler
we have here (also the only real poisonous snake in Michigan). But it's small, never ever seen any over 2ft. Heard of them getting bigger but never saw one.
