I know there had been talk on here before about data density from different scanners I just thought I would show that mine is set to medium and still quite a bit more dense than 3shape. Just saying.

can you export stl. form your software?
lets do some scans and export into blender or something and look at data points at the highest res. in blender or something. its not about who wins but at least we will have proof with pictures. maybe we should scan an e.max build up liquid lid?
at least most of us have them! we dont have many US pennies in Aus funnily enough.

Should have been worded it better....is that what you need from blender? I'll scan an Emax liquid lid tomorrow and import into blender. Explain the high res to me? Just change to edit mode for screen shot?

I wrote some very simple mesh analysis scripts for blender.

Average edge length, average face area, vertices per area etc. If we all want to collect a series of files, we can run the analysis on them all at once.

I must stress though, data density is only good if....thread hijacking

Sent you an Emax lid STL straight from the scanner I did not close the bottom but I dont think it would matter.

Average Vert Spacing: 73microns
Mesh Density: 216 (verts/mm^2)

Emax Lid HD Complex:
Average Vert Spacing: 66microns
Mesh Density: 267 (verts/mm^2)

I'm going to start a thread just for this...since I have a lot of different "tests" now, plus there is more to accuracy than just "total points" so perhaps we can discuss other things...When I make it, I'll add the link into this thread.
