Hello all, quick question for you guys. I'm designing a splint on Splint Studio, there is a missing molar, so there is a large gap. My question is, how do i go about drawing the outline when I'm at that gap? Thanks!

Might be easier to set up an order for temporary pontics in that area. Design the missing teeth. Close the order. The use the "copy and append design" function. Go into the copied order. Export the scan. Create a new order and set it up as a "digital case." Then inport the exported scan to fabricate your splint on.

Now that I have typed that all out, it doesn't sound so easy. :) There may be an easier way, but I am not aware of it.

you can always add block out material both digitally or before you scan to shape it as desired

thanks for the reply, so basically, i would have to print the original scan into a model, add wax, scan, then design the splint? How can this software not account for something like this?

You can add block out in the step before you make your design. Here is an example. I'm not sure what version your running but this is on 22023, and I've done it on 2021. Hope this helps!Screenshot 2024-07-12 073200.pngScreenshot 2024-07-12 073325.png
