I'm still a noob at this but could your model have moved on the baseplate?

That looks familiar to me .I resecured the model and it appeared better.

Its secured. This occur about a month ago for couple times a day. Now this happen everytime I scan. Calibrate the scanner but still same result. Removed scanning software and re-install but no luck. Clean the machine as well.

Very Sorry to see this.

There is no cure, I'm afraid.

Why grow up?

Hey, you got a dirty lab?

You smoke?

Go clean your camera lens and laser source lens.

Re-calibrate.

I know a broken piece of equipment can be absolutly devastating.

I hope you get it fixed soon. It obviously looks like missing data too me.

Fuzzy laser? Crap on lens? Piece of lent?

Why didn't you include that in your first post?

I also happened at first.
In my opinion may be of three things:
First, the model was not secured to the base and moved to scanning. (Make sure the plate is fixed correctly).
Second, there has been a sudden change in temperature from the cameras were calibrated until scanning the model. (And immediately calibrated scanner scans a model).
Third, the camera lens is dirty. (Wipe with a duster with great care not to move).
Hope this helps.
A greeting.

Patrick, or any computer/digital photo gurus.....answer me this,..

Can a typical scanning laser produce enough energy to damage the sensors in the machine vision camera if aimed directly at the camera, or maybe if the operator tried to scan a very shiny piece of metal, or ?? and the direct laser energy was focused right on the actual camera lens?

Just asking?

How about a regular sensor on a standard Digital SLR camera?
Damage to sensor from lasers?

What , if any, scan spray was used? Was this a double scan that didnt mesh? Im going with dirt. Scott...no to sensor damage from a direct laser. It can cause bleed over to adjacent pixels and leave artifacts but its temporary.

Or four, there is something on the model. Steam it, dry it, then scan. If it's still like that, spray it then try.

I see that issue on my 3 shape every once in a while. I just calibrate the scanner and it goes away with the next case.

Look like a problem that I had a year ago. Does the motor sound like its working too hard ? They kept telling me to recalibrate, but in the end it was a belt. I have the same reseller, good luck getting help from those guys.

Yes, sound like the motor is working hard to scan. Model is secured. Recalibrated but still same problem. Hal2a, how did you fix the problem?

Check belts and gears for debris.

Don't you have exposed plastic gears at the front of scanner?

Some mechanical obstruction? Piece of Dental Stone of ??

Let us know how it works out.

I had a bad Maxon motor in a Lava Scanner one time.

Things happen?

Are you sealing your models? A no no
Did you steam clean then scan? A no no!
Is this a model scan or an impression scan?
