Hi all

Just wondering if anyone has done any P+C's in Emax Press??

Id like to move away from using alloy, if possible and would like a bit more of an esthetic solution.

Would Emax press be strong enough in this scemario.

Cheers
Tony

Yes it would, the only thing I tell my Doctors is that they have to bond it in place for strength. If they bond it correctly it's a great esthetic result. Think about it, most times they use composites for Post and Cores, Emax press is much stronger.

If the prep is done correctly, you won't have any problems.

How well has this worked out for people that have done it?

I have a case coming to me soon and the doc wants to know what her options are.

You could always cast the p&c and then opaque it.

I don't think emax would be strong enough for that narrow canal.

The canal would be re-prepped.
The patient had RCT and a crown placed 20+ years ago, it broke off last week while she was eating.

I believe that it is a contraindication for e.max press, but I think there is a product called Cosmopost and ingots to go with them?

I think I'll go with the opaqued cast post, seems to be the most predictable option.
I haven't opaqued one before, are there any tricks to it?

Composite post and core. I Order composite posts from clinical side of Zahn. Zr and metal posts can cause root trauma in some situations. I did cast metal post and cores for years and just opaqued visible side. Changed recently to composite.

Works pretty slick if you spray opaque. Just spray the post in the die, tap slightly so it pops up a little and grab with a hemo, stand in a honeycomb tray. Take some off the cor/prep to give room for the Opaque layer.

yes, this is the ultimate choice if you ask me. Done many of them with good results and zero remakes.
