Hi Guys, A brain twister for you.
A designer friend of mine who makes some very funky stuff has asked me a question that has me a bit stumped!
Can you take a very rough cad design or scan of a sphere and then tell the/a program to slice it into lets say 100 individual 2mm thick layers to be printed or laser cut so it can then be reassembled ???????????????. This is how basic printers work but in a continuous action layer by layer, can the layers be separated or can individual .stl files be generated from one file.

These are the sort of toys he plays with: Delhi Aerostat - International Achievement AwardsDelhi Aerostat - International Achievement Awards
