model for intraoral scan of already seated implant abutment

We received intraoral scan of already seated implant abutment similar to what is shown below:

We have not dealt with an intraoral scan of already seated implant abutment. Can we just design and 3d print the model and use the already seated implant abutment as a part of the model or do we need to find the right abutment for it? Thank you in advance.

I vote for the first part, print the model and an extra die to trim, and go from there. It's like when they used to impression those cases for us to make the crown on.

Yes. Just treat this like a regular C&B case on a conventional prep.
