I personally believe in simplicity for the most basic cases. I remember Sum3D was so simple. It would rough mill with the 2mm burr......finish with the 1mm bur......and if needed, do the fine touch with a 0.6mm. We are currently using Millbox 2025. The rough milling is very redundant despite my changing the strategies and apply "rough milling FAST" option. It takes 18-21 minutes to mill one unit. Millbox 2020 could mill a single unit molar in 12 minutes. It's driving the owner insane.

Why do these companies insist on making every new version of their software more complex? If it isn't broke, dont fix it! Keep it simple! Dont be like the Germans!

Let me remind you about the yearly maintenance fee. If there was no upgrade on a yearly based where do you think more of their income comes from?

Hi Nick. Let me encourage you to reach out to either your dealer or our escalated support to take a look at your strategies. I'm with you. It shouldn't be newer and slower (unless the quality is vastly better so there's less finish work after the mill or something like that). [email protected] is or team email. Provide your license/dongle number and let's get it sorted for you.

Yeah I miss good ole Sum3D. I think Millbox has outsourced their coding to India, and now there are lines all over the crowns (equator line) and has been that way even with brand new mills and new spindles. The occlusal table has a light gouge all around it, too. Its very minor, but annoying, and a sign Millbox quality is turning to dookie.

for that reason we went with hyperdent for a newer mill. still use sum3d, but hyperdent seems to be pretty good too. heard too many no-no stories with millbox and wanted to steer clear.
that said, i have also heard good things from a few people...i guess it depends upon your personal usage.
