Hello!
We have been getting feedback that our IP contacts on full crowns are light when seating.
But the contacts are contact to tight on the solid models...

Anybody had the same problem? How did you resolve it?

Thank you for the help :)

two layer impressions?
Waiting too long to pour the impressions?
Extreme mismatch between impression material expansion and die stone expansion.
Every office and every dentist or just one office or one practitioner and not always even with that one.

Thank you for your input. I will keep that in mind.

forgot pouring them too soon too.

Most pvs will need around an hour to fully stabilize and complete off-gassing.

Find out what impression material are being used. Read their IFU.

Assistant cramming a temp on with heavy contacts. It only takes a tenth of a mm to be out of contact and the PDL can move quite a bit. Some things are out of our control, we work on models not mouths.

Expanded functions, expanded interdental space.. ha. Works both ways, contacts open on temp, tight contacts after a week or two of tooth drift.

Thats a bit oversimplified, more of a good excuse.. but it depends if its only happening with one office, or multiple.

Also depends on what your definition of tight and loose are.. (hushes peanut gallery) If you use ribbon that is 10 or 20 microns and the dr uses shimstock that is 5-8 microns.. then were talking about different tolerances..

Also check if the contacts are ground on when they come back.. thats step one.
