Hi guys,

Sorry my first post is a question but does anyone recognise this implant system by looking at the crown that was removed?

Trying to help a friend out and never seen this before.

Any help greatly appreciated.

All the best

Steve

Looks like friction-fit Bicon, but with a hex?

No screw? No hole?

Osteo-Ti is another manufacture of no-screw, friction-fit implants.

I personally hate them! (screwless, tapered interface fit abutments) TIF

It's a strange looking thing.

I hate these type of implants too. I much prefer ones I can get a CAD/CAM solution for.

They do look like Osteo Ti but I've never seen them without a screw like this? Unless the surgeon has used a component they are not supposed to?

Thanks for such a quick reply, much appreciated :D

Is it still in good shape?

Why has it been removed and why can't you make a new crown for it the way it is?

Is this an Implant that would be more often seen in Europe?

Is it smaller than a breadbox?

Does it have wings?

Can you eat it?

Is it a turtle?

I genuinely don't know why it's been removed but I will ask.

It's certainly not a more popular European implant, the big boys over here are the regular suspects. Straumann, Dentsply, Nobel & 3i

Never seen anything like this before.

Loving the banter guys, top form popcorn

Hi John,

Sorry for the slow reply.

Yes that's exactly how it came out the mouth. It has everyone I've shown it to completely stumped!

Very strange.....

So, the problem is....How to make a model to fix this thing? Right?

Forget what it is....just fix it, huh?

But, you need to make a working model? Strip the Porcelain and rebuild it and glaze it, no?

Need to have interprox the same and occlusion the same? I can think of a few ways to record that info based on the existing shape.

Did Doc not make any attempt at some sort of impression of the Implant position for ya?

Will scanning the tooth as wax up and mill a FCZ, work??? it looks as if the abutment was cemented to the implant.

Hi, a pick up impression of the crown on the implant in the mouth before pouring the stone make a duralay implant abutment and pour your model in usual matter
then take out the crown from the impression and strip the porcelain and do a new crown.

Guys, this could very well be Porc baked directly to Ti!

Especially if this came from Europe. Don't assume anything!

I only see doo-duo dent abutments that have threads on the abutment. Not hex.

Cheers guys,

Not had a chance to speak to my friend so unsure why he couldn't just use it in a pickup impression and redo the crown as mentioned above.

Unless there's been a problem with it constantly just coming out?

I'll get full info and post back :)
