Question: I previously asked a question that was for the most part answered, but there was still something that I would like know. Should a 6 month old all porcelain crown be turning gray or no? The crown was put directly on my original tooth with no posts or anything extra added. If no then what is the reaso . . .
Answer: A clinical exam is needed to answer this question. Crowns should not change color.

The crown turning gray is interesting, I suspect that could be one of two things. 1. The non-precious (car bumper) metal is starting to oxide and turn the gums gray/black. 2. If it was a empress crown or similar, could be micro leakage from a bad bonding job, which turns a crown gray from the bacteria under the crown turning black.
