I'm looking for an alternative solution to using a flipper over an implant during ossiointegration.

I've used an essix type appliance before but the patient wants something they can eat with.

Some Drs like to bond a denture tooth in place but it seems quite messy.

What about acetal resin? Something not too costly since it is an interm appliance.

Any ideas?

Essix

Valplast Unilateral

Direct denture tooth maryland bridge

Indirect Composite maryland bridge

Acrylic partial

They all have pros and cons for each specific case. The surrounding dentition will determine what can and can't be done in a minimally invasive manner.

Anyway you look at it if the patient is being demanding they have to spend the bucks.

You make a good point regarding individual specifics.

I was thinking along those lines as well. I want something that can be repaired chairside so when the inevitable occurs, I don't have to drop everything to " save the day".

Composites are chairside repairable, sufficiently funcional, and cost effective.

I may have to breakout my old Sculpture syrynges.

OK how about snap-on smiles

Sat a lecture about this yesterday.

Dont look great but they may suite. Only problem is its licensed so apart from putting a mark up on, your not gonna earn a ton from it.

But they are made of thermo plastic AND you can eat with them.

How about an injected nesbit, like how Keating has a "delineator" designed around implant applications?

Essix Temporary is pretty much the standard as a passive implant healing appliance

Do you guys have any pics of the delineator or the Essix temp.

Does the Essix look like a vac shell with a denture tooth inside?

The "snap on smile" is acetal ?

OK, I just Googled Essix temp bridge so no need for the pic

However when I Googled " injected nesbit" I got this:

From the Penis Website:

Ruining Your Penis
With The Nesbit Procedure

When it comes to straightening out a bent penis caused by Peyronies Disease, the Nesbit Procedure is what most American Medical doctors recommend.

OK kcdt....you got some 'splainin' to do....:suspicious:

I believe they are, and yes, acetal is a thermoplastic; but not all thermoplastics are acetal.

Interesting, I'm not sure about loading the implant with a temp after surgery. The healing cap would have to be removed wouldn't it?
