Our lab once made a canine canine. Cadaver dog, er, dog was a cadaver, that a vet wanted to see if it was possible. It was. Just not sure how you'd explain to fido to close in his normal bite and hold for a few minutes.

I was asked to make a lower crown about 15 years ago for one of our four legged friends, this thing was a show dog and had somehow chipped a tooth. Surgeon wanted Spinel, that dog must of been very loved or made it's owner a lot of cash.

Usually Canines are under general anasthesia for dental proceedures, like hygiene or restorative proceedures. When you think about it, a Police Dog is a great force multiplier and general training, plus bomb or drug detection training puts about $50,000.00 on the bill. A broken tooth makes the Canine unfit for duty and treatment is a lot cheaper than retirement and replacement.

Our local leo's use meelee muts only, so they dont get quite that expensive. They call in neighboring units for anything else.
