We are doing work for an office that has an impression scanner. We are currently using a DWOS 3S+ scanner, but wondering if we have the ability to receive scanned impressions from the doctor. If so, how would we go about doing this? Thanks in advance!!

The scan files from IO scanner will have to be in an open file format. They can be sent to you via Hipaa compliant ftp portal.

Are most scanners open architecture? I know our DWOS is. What would be an example of the FTP portal you are referring to?

Thanks!

The only IO scanners in the States that are open format are Planscan and Carestream. The others require licensing to get stl files out of them.
Hipaa compliant FTP portal example would be DDX. There are others. BSB has a service for this.
