I was watching it on the Webcast. I probably got confused and thought one was Imagine white pre sinter colored and one in the micro layered multi. At the end, which version of the above you mentioned, did they say had a warm look to it? (it was my favorite)
Imagine Multilayered was the one. Thanks for joining the Webcast!!!!

I was going to let some of the dust settle before I called Nina about that one. Wonderful looking product. The paste for creating light add on contours, addling light contacts etc, looked incredible :)

It is very unique! Not like luster paste, etc. We are well into the triple digits in kit sales in 2 days! Hope to ship by end of March....The market is clearly in need of a high performance monolithic finishing system......This is going to be fun.....

DIY Miyo= 1 part insync+1 part add on porcelain. Ive been doing that for years.. it will be nice to have some options but far from revolutionary.

This morning I tried 1 part add on porc. about 1 part Pentron Universal glaze powder and mixed it with glycerin. I just couldn't seem to get the viscosity
that I saw in the webinar. I think I need to use the InSync glaze as the base, like you've been doing.

What do you use to thin out your mix when you add the dry porc. powder, glycerin? Do you think that is what they use for their liquid in InSync, or is it maybe a glycerin hybrid?

insync glaze + emax add-on. Mix them to the consistency you want. Perfectly clear, or do the same with insync stain. Shhh. dont tell. Cmon, this stuff is made in the same fabrik in liechtenstein that makes insync, it cant be too different. Thought about going by there when Im in europe next month, its 30 min from where we stay, but Im sure they dont give tours.. ha

I'm pretty sure you get a tour if you go there and ask nicely. I've never been to that particular one but I went to Ivoclar ,I believe it was in Schaan. They were really nice.Since you are going to be so close ,call them and schedule a tour.

Sounds like that works for you which is great but this is not something rebranded, there are materials and processes used to make this that have never been offered before.

I would be happy to schedule a one on one meeting with you and all of the people involved in developing MiYO from concept to finish. Feel free to PM me and we will set it up while you're at the IDS.

That would be awesome, I wont be at IDS though, just visiting family. Im not trying to minimize a product Ive never used. I actually just spoke to amy yesterday and was excited to try some. I hope its better than I imagine, I love insync glaze.

I think subtractive manufacturing, i.e. milling.. has a shelf life. When do the techs realize that we are wasting probably 60% of the material we buy. I dont think the mfgs care because they profit on 100% of the material. I believe that we will be printing materials in the near future, zirconia or otherwise. I think the need for super-strength crowns is good for some things but not necessary for every pt.

Ok to be fair..yes milling may have a shelf life and the "great promise" of 3D printing will one day print a ceramic material. How soon... well it can do it now, but the machines are expensive and the materials are limited. There is a lot of promises with 3D printing and always has been. The thing with subtractive is this, the materials are here today and can be used today, not next week, not next year, today. The mills are inexpensive..just look at the new Roland -DWX 52DC for example. People who are waiting for 3D printed ceramics to come will wait for a while yet..in the meantime, mill or grind to your hearts content.

I did try the IPS e.max Press Multi on a case. It was disappointing in that it looked monochromatic. Just stained a little.

IMHO, it's in the skill of the tech, to some extent. Multi's aren't a powder built crown, but the multi translucencies are an advantage and a little micro layering can help as well. I haven't had a problem with them looking monochromatic unless sprued wrong.

Thanks for the comment. My lab actually said they outsourced the Emax Multi, since they didn't use it at their lab.
It seems that lab techs, and their abilities, are as varied as dentists. Confusing time is prosthetic dentistry on all fronts. Thanks again.

which is exactly why dentists and labs need to fit together like lego blocks, instead of working to their own ends.

as you rightly pointed out in another thread.
