Hi, I'm new here and have just started using a 3 Shape scanner.
I like the software but I find that the putty that they provide doesn't hold the models very well.
Does anyone have a substitute material to use that works better?

Thanks

Sculpey... you can get it Wal-Mart. Or poster putty, also available at The Wal.

We use modeling clay. It's cheap and easy to work with.

Contact one of our excellent members on this site; blue tooth, aka Damir Stemberger . He manufactures a really nice model holder that uses no putty. Its quick and simple. I love mine.

what scanner are you using?

typed before I remembered this was a 3shape putty post ha. Does this holder accommodate artimax and stone models?

blue tak won't hold models ? how big are your models? holds triple trays and stone based pinned models fine.

are they huge?

Iv'e always liked the Identica jig , nothing moves with these :)download.jpg

Never had any issues hold my model in and I scan metal articulators in my D700 and D2000 no problems. Just need to know how to use it I guess.
