Hi everyone,
I have just joined and this is my first post. This post was motivated by my unsuccessful search for a refractory material. It's been a few years since I have worked with feldspathic porcelain. I was away from the bench due to an accident and didn't work with feldspathic porcelain for several years. As I returned and ordered Nori-Vest to make refractory dies and stack feldspathic porcelain on them I was surprised with a notice from Zahn Dental that this item is not in stock. I called Kuraray and they confirmed Nori-Vest is no longer manufactured. I also found some discussion threads right here in this forum discussing a similar GC material but their website suggests it is no longer available, too.
Is there a substitute material anyone can recommend? For those of you working with feldspathic porcelain, what refractory or technique are you using other than platinum foil?
Any suggestions or help will be greatly appreciated.
Joe
