Hi all!
I currently am using desktop health Einstein printers - e-model Z- beige and the equivalent key print resins. I am having trouble printing multiple models at a time. Calibration comes out perfectly, one model prints great. Multiple models and some models are coming out with massive “chunks” missing. I have been troubleshooting a few things/ supports, build style, flat vs 45degree hanging models. I am at a loss at what could be causing this type of failure- any insights or anyone experience the same issue?

Not to mention desktop health has now been bought out by sprint ray which is a roadblock of its own.

Is it the same area on the platform that the prints fail? If that is the case you may need the projector replaced. I had to replace mine every 18 months or so. Also check your o2 generater. Those can slowly go bad.

Thank you for your reply!

No the prints fail anywhere. But only if printing multiple which is weird. If I have say 5 on the platform, maybe 1-2 will work the rest will fail. But 1 model usually works no problem.
These printers don’t use an oxygen tank? We have oxygen tanks for other printers the envision one but didn’t think the Einstein needed one? Correct me if I’m wrong

Have you installed your $50 piece of clear plastic they offered just prior to going bankrupt that was supposed to fix some of the pull force issues caused by their build trays? It was a small insert installed on the bottom of each tray that prevented the material from pulling away from the plate, I believe they marketed it as $50 USD for a 3 pack.

That said, I'm told the buyout and restructuring is complete and they'll be shipping out orders of materials in the next 2 weeks with tech support available shortly based on what your original service agreement was was with Desktop Health.

Hard to say without pictures but sounds like either the LPU is going bad in places or there is debris blocking it either on the bottom of the tank or on the machine. Also if you aren't emptying and cleaning the tank after the failures there is a chance pieces of the previous failed print are causing problems with the next one.

Yes we have installed the smart film- and also switched build styles to accommodate this. This has been an ongoing issue with this printer for us. Great news we can get the old material again hopefully soon- however it doesn’t appear to be the issue as even with the model Z it was failing. It was originally used as a back up or quick print printer but shift has got us needing to use it more.

We have switched trays, changed materials cleaned emptied calibrated etc. how would I look into changing the LPU? Or is this something that just means the printer is done?
The printer is fairly new with little use as it was intended to replace an older back up/rush printer we had and now we’re just needing to use it more frequently. So it hasn’t had lots of use. We’ve been struggling with multiple model prints for some time now. And for some reason I can’t figure out how to upload a photo to show.

On the help page they have test files you can print. They can help you identify if the projector is going bad. That has to be sent in to fix. I have that printer just sitting here with the same issues. Started right after the bankruptcy letter. I bought a new form labs printer and i have other backups. Just waiting until they have the bankruptcy mess sorted to see how much I will have to pay.

Thank you- I will look into these!

are you talking about the calibration links? The cubes for parallelism and home calibration? Or the L for quick calibration? I’m not finding anything regarding checking the projector tests.

Did you buy it new from Desktop Health or a distributor, or was it bought from a 3rd party?

Brand new from the former, it's too soon for the printer to be completely done unless someone really touched something they shouldn't have. 'Brand new' for the latter, could be someone fixed it just enough and got rid of it.

Assuming brand new from desktophealth or a distro, and you've raised the projector power to compensate for the smartfilm (they recommend +3% to I believe 50% total, I think we went with 51%), and you've done the calibration L's for the specific tray and material combo? I would recommend contacting sprintray directly or looking at some of the troubleshooting they've recently put on their website https://support.sprintray.com/s/art...-to-the-build-platform-but-some-did-not-stick https://support.sprintray.com/s/contactsupport

While I'm not fond of their printers due to accuracy issues and software, their tech support is usually pretty dang good.

It depends on the manufacturer, if that's the problem you'll need to contact them and see if they have warranty coverage or if you can get replacement parts. I'm not sure how Einstein printers work personally, but some printers have a function in the setting to check the LPU. My formlabs printer for example has a setting where it will just light the whole screen so you can check it. We put a piece of paper over it to dim the light and then look for dark spots on the paper which indicate some of the lights aren't working.

Yes bought new from a distributor.

I don’t believe we have raised the projector power- I will look into this- fingers crossed this is the issue and we can print successfully again!
we weren’t even aware that the smart film was “necessary” at first when we applied it yes, we did the cubes and the L.
Thank you! Their tech support has been quiet since whatever happened however I have seen posts regarding they are beginning to start running smoothly again.
Thanks for your info!

I can’t seem to find where it reccomends to adjust the projector power, what I’m finding is for Einstein is Says that’s all automatically done with the build style ? If you have a link would you be able to share it so I can look further into this
